We define a small Builder as a firm which does not currently use the services of a full time Quantity Surveyor or Estimator (other than the Director or Proprietor).

You may be a small Builder typically wrestling with a pile of paperwork whilst neglecting those vital tenders which are required within a few days, and with overdue final accounts on your desk etc etc . If this sounds familiar you have probably grown to the point where you need to seriously consider surveying support, probably on a part time basis initially. This can be achieved by delegating those urgent tenders to an experienced Building Estimator who will prepare them to your exact requirements, on time and to a high professional standard of presentation. Extreme care will be taken to ensure that the tender sum will provide a small profit. Larger profit margins can be built in, upon instruction from the Builder, with less probability of a tender award. By using spreadsheets we are able to modify and fine-tune our estimate at the last minute in consultation with our Client Builder.

You could also respond to the “growing pains” of your business by appointing one of our QS consultants to help you out – typically on the basis of one or two days a week. What could be achieved? Your interim applications could be prepared for you. You could get assistance with routine purchasing. You may require your Daywork sheets or your Site Works Orders to be prepared for you.
